Who’s Anson??
I’m an L.A.-area foodie with a passion for both preparation and consumption of comestibles and libations, in varying styles and forms, from varying origins, and inspired by any number of things (or sometimes inspired by nothing at all).
When it comes to food and drink, I have been known to say that I’ll put anything in my mouth twice. That is to say that I will try anything when it comes to food or drink, and I will try it at least twice. Any chef/bartender/restaurant/bar can have an off day. Maybe my mood or perspective was not in-sync with the food/drink. Maybe I just didn’t understand the concept the first time around.
I almost forgot that I said “preparation and consumption.” I am self-trained in the culinary arts. I wield my pallet with precision and, when combined with my nerdiness and basic technique, delicious food abounds. I’m such a food nerd, I have a professionally-framed movie-spoof poster from the inside of the dust cover of Alton Brown’s “Good Eats: The Early Years.”
